BarCamp is an international network of user-created conferences.
BarCamps are open, participatory workshop-like events whose content is provided by the participants. Topics often focus on, but are not limited to, early-stage web applications as well as related open source technologies, social protocols, open data formats and other hacker culture themes. At BarCamp, there are no spectators, only participants. Attendees are encouraged to prepare a demo, a session, or otherwise volunteer / contribute in some way to support the event. All presentations are scheduled the day they happen.
BarCamp Stockholm is organized by thoughtbot - a mobile and web application design and development firm. The majority of their clients are early-stage startups. They build minimum viable products, get them to market, and iterate. They are passionate about contributing to the open source community. thoughtbot recently opened up shop in Stockholm.
